MAP MAKING AND HOW TO FIND YOUR INTERESTS

c.2016

Employing the act of map making as a tool to understand and communicate an obscure condition, Jonathan Melendez Davidson seeks to become aware of his own interests as a critical designer. This ongoing project started out by studying the inefficiency of previous projects processes and a desire for a streamlined yet flexible method. The project began by the identification and curation of a list of "successful projects' which were later filtered and distilled based on attractive and useful qualities present in previous works. Through this filtering three projects were identified as the ones which contained the greater number of appealing characteristics. After an in-depth research of each project, Melendez Davidson arrived to four common topics from the group which will become the frameworks for his upcoming work.
